Men on peace bond after stairway dispute

A dispute over the demolition of a stairway landed a man before the court yesterday for provoking a breach of the peace.

At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, Terrence Curry admitted to demolishing a stairway of a home where the virtual complainant Collis Trotman resided, but said that he was the homeowner and had been advised to remove the deteriorating structure.

It was alleged that on August 5, in the Georgetown district, Curry removed the stairs of the back entrance. He, however, stated that an official from the fire service had advised him to remove the
