Region Eight Chairman Mark Crawford says that the region will be examining options with regards to the Regional Democratic Council’s no-confidence motion against the Regional Executive Officer Ronald Harsawack, while maintaining that it was made as a result of non-cooperation.
In July, a no-confidence motion was brought by APNU and passed by a majority of the members of the RDC against Harsawack. Eight of the 15 members of the RDC backed the motion, which was based on a series of complaints against the REO. Minister of Local Govern-ment Ganga Persaud has said that the RDC has no jurisdiction over appointed officials.
