Seventy-six karatekas promoted

Seventy-six karatekas graduated recently when the Guyana Karate Collage (GKC) held its annual mid-year grading examination at the Malteenoes Sports Club dojo in Thomas Lands.

This examination  was judged by Chairman and Chief Instructor of the International Karate Daigaku, Master Frank Woon-A-Tai, M.S., a 9th degree black belt holder. Headlining the grading at this event was Aubrey Bettencourt, a senior karateka, who was promoted from a second degree (Nidan) black belt ranking to a third degree (Sandan) ranking; Tashana Wong, Kenny Wong and Tenecia Plowell who were elevated from first degree (Shodan) black belt rankings to second degree
