Solomon keen for meeting with Linden probe international commissioners

Region Ten Chairman, Sharma Solomon says that he is not aware of any meetings scheduled between regional representatives and the international members of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry but would encourage it.

“I don’t know if something is being planned but that is not to our knowledge,” Solomon said yesterday. The international members of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the July 18 Linden protestor shootings will be arriving in Guyana on Wednesday, when they are to be sworn in. Justice Lensley Wolfe and Senior Counsel K.D. Knight of Jamaica and Senior Counsel Dana Seetahal of Trinidad and Tobago are to take the Oath of Office before President Donald Ramotar, after which they would meet to establish the rules of procedures for hearings by the Commission, a release from the Office of the President said on Friday.
