A 71-year-old man on his way home was last evening hit and killed by a car at Industry, Railway Line, East Coast Demerara as he attempted to cross the roadway. The driver of the car is in police custody assisting with investigations.
Dead is Edward Ashby of Lot 53 Third Street, Industry. The accident occurred around 19:45 hrs and the elderly man was later pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
