A Haslington North, East Coast Demerara family was last evening pondering their next move after fire of unknown origin destroyed their home.
According to reports, around 6 pm yesterday, Valerie St Kitts’ niece observed smoke emanating from a back room at the top flat of the two-bedroom home at Lot 78, Haslington North. The young lady quickly raised an alarm and neighbours immediately rushed to the scene.
However, the fire, which was aided by the heavy Atlantic breeze, was too much for the neighbours and within a matter of 10 minutes the entire home was engulfed in flames. A neighbour said that
