Scotiabank bursaries: Scotiabank presented bursaries ranging from $15,000 to $30,000 to 12 employees’ children who performed well at the National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) and the CSEC examinations. The top two performers are David Ally, who obtained three distinctions, two grade ones, four grade twos and one grade four at the CSEC exams and Jordon Denny, who gained 522 markets at the NGSA and obtained a place at the Bishops’ High School. They both received an Amazon Kindle HD in addition to the cash award, Scotiabank said in a press release. The other recipients are Bibi Selena Valenzuela, Tavis Denny, Ronaldo McGarrell, Abdool Khalid Majid, Jasanie Austin, Dominic Braam, Melissa Amanda Waldron, Nathifa Williams, Daniel Ally and Shaniah De La Cruz. The bursaries awards varied based on the percentage the student received. The sums ranged from $15,000 to $30,000 for 50% and over.
