O’Selmo wins Troy Humphrey Memorial feature race

National cyclist, Rastaff Oselmo sped off with a prime prize and the winner’s trophy of the feature 25-lap event of the 15th annual Troy Humphrey Memorial Cycling meet yesterday at the National Park. Oselmo, who hails from the mining town of Linden, led Eric Sankar and Paul Choo-Wee-Nam into the top three places in that order.

Top veteran rider Raymond Newton, national road race champion, Orville Hinds and Warren ‘40’ McKay placed fourth, fifth and sixth respectively. Hinds also rode away with three sprint prizes while Sankar and Choo Wee Nam copped two each. Bronze medalist at this year’s Junior Caribbean Cycling Championships, Raynauth Jeffrey dominated the Junior/Juvenile 20-lap showdown with Michael Anthony and Raul Leal who finished second and third respectively. So dominant was Jeffrey’s performance that he won all five prime prizes.
