Bids were yesterday opened for stands for the synthetic track under construction at Leonora, West Coast Demerara.
Minister of Sport Dr Frank Anthony explained that given the magnitude of the work, the construction is phased and divided into lots. Yesterday’s bids were for one section of the stands, which when completed should be able to seat an estimated 8,000 persons. Over $500M has already been awarded in contracts for the project.
