Prisoner recaptured after escape from court

De Jesus Naraine, a prisoner on remand for charges of break and enter and larceny and escaping lawful custody, yesterday managed to slip out of the Georgetown Magis-trates’ Court building under the noses of police.

Naraine’s freedom was short-lived, however, as he recaptured hours later.
It is believed that he escaped from Court One, before his cases were transferred to another court.

An eyewitness said that at the time of the man’s escape, no police officer was present at the door of the courtroom.
