Solar panels for Endeavour, Clemwood

Solar panels for Endeavour, Clemwood: The 135-watt solar panel systems and brush cutters that were presented to the communities of Endeavour and Clemwood in the Demerara River by the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development recently. The donations were made based on requests to the ministry during an outreach made earlier this month, the Government Information Agency (GINA) reported on Thursday. Ministry Permanent Secretary Collin Croal handed over the items to the head teacher of Endeavour Primary, Tricia Sampson and the Headmaster of Clemwood Primary Jeffrey Patterson. The solar systems cost $264,000 each and will be installed at the schools, while the brush cutters, purchased at a cost of $90,000 each, are for the communities’ use. The communities were encouraged to take proper care of the solar system and to use the weed whackers to maintain the ground of the schools and health centres. (GINA photo)
