The body of a Shieldstown, West Bank Berbice cane-harvester, Deodat Persaud who apparently lost his life in a hit and run accident, was discovered along the roadway around 4.10 am yesterday.
His brother, Kapil Persaud of Bath Settlement, who made the discovery, said there was visible evidence on the road that his brother was manually dragged onto the parapet after being hit. He said Deodat had been drinking earlier and left home around 7 pm on Sunday.
