A Sophia resident is lucky to be alive after armed men, apparently after his motor car, beat him mercilessly before stabbing him in his back, moments after the vehicle broke down on the Montrose Public Road yesterday morning.
Tribbowan Persaud, age 37, of North Sophia was subsequently rushed to the Georgetown Hospital by public-spirited citizens but was left in the waiting room of the accident and emergency area for some time, according to his wife Tulsidai Persaud.
