Man recovering after throat slit by mentally ill attacker

Kevin Layne, who was stabbed and had his throat slit by a mentally unstable man in the vicinity of the Astor Cinema at Church and Waterloo streets, is now recovering at the Georgetown Hospital from his injuries his boss said yesterday.

Layne, 35, was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital on Friday night shortly after he was found lying in front of his boss’s home at Robb Street, a short distance away from where the attack occurred.
