Director of Culture, Dr. James Rose yesterday presented a cheque for $17M to Secretary to the Guyana Prize for Literature Management Committee, professor Al Creighton to cover preparation costs for the 2013 contest, the Government Information Agency said.
The Ministry of Culture has already placed advertisements in the press inviting entries to the competition. The Guyana Prize was established in 1987.
Creighton told GINA that the committee was happy that the Guyana Prize for Literature is moving forward.
