Despite a 50% increase in murders recorded at the end of January 2013, the Guyana Police Force says there has been an overall decrease of 3% in serious crime compared with the same period in 2012 and road fatalities were also down.
“The total number of reports of serious crimes made during January 2013 was 317 compared to 326 in January 2012,” police said in a press statement. Some of the offences monitored are murder, robbery under arms,
