National footballer dies after accident

A national football player succumbed in hospital on Saturday to internal injuries sustained in an accident that left him in a coma for 11 days.

Dead is Colin Edwards, 21, of Lot 14 Bent Street, Werk-en-Rust, who was a member of the national team, the Golden Jaguars, for which he played as goalkeeper.

His mother, Dawn Edwards, was unable say what transpired at the time
