Man beat wife who was suspicious about phone call -court hears

A man was yesterday charged with assaulting his common-law wife after she became suspicious about a phone call he received.

But Lionel Greaves pleaded not guilty to the unlawful assault of Nancy Brown when he was arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, where Magistrate Judy Latchman was told that the victim sustained soft tissue trauma to the forehead.

It was alleged that Greaves committed the assault on February 17, at Cooper Street, Albouystown.
