A Guyanese-born Canadian is alleging that she was raped by a Guyana Defence Force (GDF) major early on Valentine’s Day, after she went out with him.
The incident allegedly took place at a guest house on the East Bank Demerara, after the woman went to see the accused, who had been her friend for the past 12 years. The GDF major allegedly had forced anal sex with the woman, after she consented to having vaginal sex with him.
The woman, 35, stated that the officer has denied such allegations in the presence of his lawyers and her during a confrontation at the Brickdam Police Station. Instead, the man claimed that he had consensual sex with the woman. The matter is currently being investigated
