The decomposing body of a Sparendaam man was found behind the home of one of his neighbours yesterday—three days after he was last seen trying to get away from police during a raid targeting gamblers. Dead is pork knocker Gary De Florimonte, 28, also known as ‘Saddam’ and ‘G’ of Lot 67 Sparendaam Squatting Area, East Coast Demerara, who residents say was fired on by police on Wednesday night, although lawmen did not report firing any shots during the operation.
His body is at the Lyken Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination, which will determine whether the man was shot dead.
