Cop fined for burning gun licence books

A former police lance corporal was yesterday fined for obstructing the course of justice after she admitted to burning two firearm licence record books.

Magistrate Judy Latchman fined Edon Greene $160,000 with an alternative of serving 24 months in jail at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

“I would like to apologise to the members of the Guyana Police Force for embarrassing them all and my family,” Greene told the court, after she pleaded guilty to the charge of obstruction of justice.
