It is almost a month now since one of the generators supplying residents in Lethem with electricity went down and it is still to be fixed.
As a result some parts of the community are still receiving an inadequate supply of power even though another generator was brought in to correct the situation.
The reason for the inability to fix the generator that went down is still unclear and efforts to secure a comment from officials at the Lethem Power Company (LPC) were unsuccessful. The engine went down due to mechanical problems. It is the generator that was donated by the government last year to provide round-the-clock power.
