Asiyah Mohammed, the winner of the finger spelling bee competition sponsored by Courts, was yesterday presented with a cheque of $320,000 which will go towards the Deaf Association of Guyana.
The competition, which was coordinated by the Deaf Association of Guyana in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, saw participants from the New Amsterdam Special School, David Rose Special School and the Tuschen Deaf Academy. Photo shows Mohammed at centre with the cheque.
