Shot taxi driver discharged from hospital

Leslie Wood, the taxi driver who was shot multiple times and left for dead last week, was discharged from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation yesterday.
Stabroek News was told that the two bullets he took on July 5 during a drive-by shooting on Cummings Street, Alberttown were still lodged in his body.

This newspaper was told that the one bullet was close to his heart and as a result doctors wouldn’t be “troubling” it. A family member noted that the other bullet injury to Wood’s head was still “oozing” but that doctors discharged the man none the less.

Up to Friday, Wood was noted as being in a delirious state and as a result police were unable to question him and obtain new information regarding the events that led up to the shooting. Stabroek News was told previously by Crime Chief, Seelall Persaud, that
