US Embassy and partners in Linden medical clinic

The US Embassy Humanitarian Assistance Program in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Wismar Mosque and the Central Islamic Organisation of Guyana recently hosted a medical outreach exercise and donated a quantity of pharmaceuticals to the Linden Regional Hospital Complex in Region Ten.

Hundreds of Lindeners benefited from free medical services in various fields such as gynaecology, paediatrics, dermatology and general medicine, a press release from the Embassy said.

The HAP team also donated pharmaceuticals to the hospital in order to provide follow-up care and services to those treated at the clinic and to the residents of Linden.  The medical outreach was supported by medical volunteer staff from the Tiwari Pharmacy, West Coast Demerara, Doobay Medical Centre, East Coast Demerara, St Joseph Mercy Hospital, Georgetown and the Linden hospital.
