A man was fined $5,000 for assaulting his wife after an argument over a text message she read on his phone.
Keith Azore, 38, was also placed on a bond to keep the peace, failing which he would be imprisoned for four months.
The charge read against him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court stated that on August 10, he unlawfully assaulted his wife Christine Azore.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones stated that the couple was at home when Christine checked her husband’s phone and saw a text message that displeased her. She then confronted Keith, who got angry and an argument ensued between them.
Jones said Christine later tried sitting on Keith’s thighs, which angered him all over again and led to him pushing her off.
