Discipline among topics at East Coast cricket camp

Youngsters at the East Coast Cricket Board (ECCB) 13th Annual Cricket Summer Camp yesterday benefited from sessions that focused on the importance of discipline and the various careers that can be pursued in the sport.

The session was facilitated by Ronald Williams, a former executive member of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB). He lectured on the importance of practising discipline and expounded on the importance of demonstrating obedience to management and coach and respect for the captain and teammates. Williams also spoke on the value of time management and exercising patience.

The highlight of the session was the discussion on the various careers involved in cricket. The cricketers learned that most commentators, coaches, managers, doctors, sports journalists, scorers, referees, umpires and curators, all had some experience in the middle as a player.
