Boy, 14, stabbed by classmate over $20

A 14-year-old student of the South Ruimveldt Secondary School was stabbed with a scissors by a schoolmate yesterday after he refused to give him $20.

Junior Simon, a Third Form student, was stabbed in his chest by a student from a higher class after he refused to give him the money. Simon was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was said to be in a stable condition up to press time.

It is unclear if the suspect was taken into custody.
Simon’s uncle told Stabroek News that his family learnt about the attack nearly an hour after it occurred.
