Beepat’s bond located at Temple Street, Ogle, East Coast Demerara and at least two houses are on fire, residents and fire officials have confirmed.
Residents said that the fire started around 10:45 am and quickly spread to nearby houses. Stabroek News was told that loud explosions were heard coming from the bond as well as thick black smoke.
Two fire engines are at the site but they have difficulties because it is very windy in the area.
Stabroek News was unable to reach senior officials of Beepat’s as employees said that they were at the fire scene.
