North West Secondary School won the Guyana Geology and Mines’ (GGMC) Fourth Annual Secondary Schools Science and Technology quiz Competition, walking away with prizes including scholarships and book vouchers.
The quiz, held on December 1, sought to encourage and engage students pursuing studies in the Science and Technology fields at the secondary levels to develop more in-depth research skills in Science, Mathematics and the Geological Sciences. The competition also aimed to provide more strategic information to students who are interested in pursuing careers in the said subject areas, the GGMC said in a press release.
