The police say they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of pensioner Goberdhan Sukram, 71 years, of Miss Phoebe, Port Mourant, Corentyne, whose body was found in his home at about 1730h yesterday, with suspected wounds to the head. He lived alone and the house was ransacked.
The police are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination.
