A man was on Friday accused of threatening to stab his aunt if she got him placed before the courts.
Glenroy Reid, 23, pleaded not guilty to a charge of using threatening language when he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on June 18, at Georgetown, Reid, of Lot 12 Yarrow Dam, made use of threatening language to his aunt Diana Reid.
Attorney Adrian Thompson, who represented Reid, stated that the matter stemmed from an argument concerning dogs. Thompson, who charged that it was the man’s aunt who was the real aggressor in the matter, asked for bail but prosecutor Renetta Bentham objected.
Bentham stated that Reid told his aunt, “if she makes him go to court; he will catch her in a corner and bore her.”
Attorney Thompson, however, assured that his client would have nothing to say to his aunt and will adhere to all conditions imposed by the court should bail be granted. He also added that the parties do not reside at the same address.
As a result, Reid was released on $40,000 bail and was bonded to keep the peace pending the determination of the matter, which will continue on June 28.
