Couple on peace bond after change of heart over assault, property damage charges

A couple was placed on a bond to keep the peace for the next 12 months after each party decided to drop charges against the other.

Maria Paul, 31, of Lodge, and Taje Kumar, 41, of Mon Repos, appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown magistrates’ Court on a total of three charges.

The charges against Paul stated that one August 8, at Lodge, she unlawfully damaged a $5000 jersey belonging to Kumar and damaged the trunk of his car. She pleaded guilty to both charges.
