Region One Primary gets boat engine for student transport

The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region One on Wednesday handed over a 15- horsepower Yamaha engine to the St. Nicholas Primary School at Manawarin, Region One to power a boat to transport children from far-off communities to and from school, so that they will be able to attend classes more regularly and punctually.

The Government Information Agency (GINA) said the engine was handed over the District Education Officer, Ignatius Adams who in turn, presented it to the head teacher of the school. It will be managed by the Parent Teachers Association (PTA). The school is also in the process of acquiring funds to purchase a boat, it added.
