Johnson leads Block 22 Flames to come- from-behind victory

Block 22 Flames, led by a game-high 21 points from Aubrey Johnson defeated Wismar Pistons 50-45 when the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA)/ Trophy Stall Regulation championships continued at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court on Sunday.

Trailing 21-32 going in to the final quarter, Johnson went on the offensive, netting 16 of his eventual 21 points as the Flames outscored the Wismar side by a 29-13 score line to walk away with the five-point victory.

Supporting Johnson in the hard-fought win was namesake Cleon Johnson and Kerwin Williams who netted nine and eight points respectively.

Leading the scoring for the Pistons was Mark Lewis who netted 14 points. He was assisted by Dwight Cooper who registered 13 points. Action continues today with a double-header at the same venue.

In the opening game, Half Mile Bulls will oppose Amelia’s Ward Jets while Bankers Trust Falcons will lock horns with Retrieve Raiders in the feature contest.
