Man remanded over forged cheque

Facing three charges, including forging a Republic Bank Guyana Ltd cheque for the sum of $295,450, a 25-year-old man was on Monday remanded to prison when he appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. Quincy July was not required to plead to the three charges when they were read to him by Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty. It is alleged that on December 27 in Georgetown, July uttered to Roopnarine Tiwari one Republic Bank cheque, dated December 27, 2013, for $295,450. July, it is alleged, knew the cheque to be forged.
