Woman robbed after pleading for stick-up victim –court hears

A woman who intervened in a stick-up found herself in the victim’s place as she was then robbed, the court heard yesterday.

It was the police’s case that on December 31, 2013, together with another person, Marvin Liverpool and Timothy Griffith robbed and assaulted Candace Butler in front of a city hotel. They allegedly escaped with a purse valued $700, which contained $35,000.

Butler told the court presided over by Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty that she was conducting her business when she saw Liverpool in the process of holding up a man. She said she begged him to let the man be and he turned his attention to her, snatched her purse, dealt her a cuff to her face,
