Clearing the Hunter Street trench

The battle for Georgetown continued yesterday with these workers, who said they were contracted by the Ministry of Public Works, attempting to manually clear the Hunter Street trench. The thick grass to the left of this photo had covered the entire trench and the silt beneath it was so hard the workers were able to walk on it before they removed it. A case of too little too late? Or better late than never? Only time will tell. (Photo by Arian Browne)
