A Kitty man is now behind bars after allegedly being caught with an unlicensed gun while being out on bail on armed robbery charges.
Dellon Morgan, 27, of 149 D’Andrade Street, Newtown, Kitty, was refused bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry when he was arraigned before her yesterday on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
According to Prosecutor Michael Grant, on January 25, at about 10:40hrs, police ranks were on patrol duty on D’Abreu Street, Newtown, Kitty, when they observed Morgan acting suspiciously.
In his hands, Grant said, was a black plastic bag. He was stopped and the bag was searched and a Luger pistol with a magazine and four live rounds of ammunition
