Suriname Ambassador to Guyana,Nisa Kurban – Baboe recently paid a courtesy call on Chief-of-Staff, Brigadier-General Mark Phillips at Defence Headquarters, Base Camp Ayanganna.
A release from the GDF today said that the two officials discussed possible opportunities for cooperation, including visits and training exercises between the two forces. Additionally they have examined the possibility of restarting the Military Games and other sporting activities.
The release also said that Brigadier-General Phillips and Colonel George Lewis will be attending the installation and promotion ceremony of Colonel Ronni Benschop to Commander and Brigadier-General on Tue 2014-02-04 in Paramaribo, Suriname.
