Anti-smuggling task force sign MOU for use of army floating base

Members of the Task Force on Fuel Smuggling and Contraband on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the use of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Floating Patrol Base, which is located in the Pomeroon River.

The signatories to the MOU were GDF Deputy Chief-of-Staff Khemraj Persaud, Commissioner of Police Leroy Brumell, Commissioner-General of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) Khurshid Sattaur, Head of the Customs-Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) James Singh and Head of the Guyana Energy Agency Dr. Mahender Sharma, according to a Government Information Agency (GINA) report.
