The Lions Club of Georgetown D’Urban Park recently commissioned a community learning centre in collaboration with the Festival City Youth and Parent Organisation (FCYPO), as part of its humanitarian activities to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
On December 13, 2013, the Club and the FCYPO opened the centre which is an educational resource operation intended to provide lifelong learning activities for all attendees and meet identified needs. In keeping with the worldwide Community Learning Centre model concept and the FCYPO’s focus, self-reliance will be practised, the Lions Club said in a press release.
According to the press release, the centre is expected to offer life skills and basic education;
