Labourer on bail after denying Mahdia burglary

A labourer is now on bail after denying a charge that he broke and entered a home at Mahdia and stole over $350,000 worth of items.

According to the charge against him, Elton Calder broke and entered a home between February 12 and February 17 and stole a laptop valued at $180,000, a Sony camera valued at $25,000 and two gold rings valued at $150,000.

Calder, 19, pleaded not guilty when the allegations were read to him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry
