Young and the Restless were crowned the new 2014 Mash Cup champions after comprehensively defeating Rose Hall in the Young Warriors Cricket Club (YWCC) organised five-overs-a-side competition played in Berbice on Sunday.
Held for the second year, the tourney which was organized for Second Division teams in the East Canje/East Coast Berbice area, attracted 10 villages from across the Ancient County. The final encounter being reduced to two overs per team saw Rose Hall batting first and being restricted to 16 for 3 off their allotted 12 deliveries, to which the new champions knocked off the target in seven balls without losing a wicket.
