Warhead safely removed from shot Corentyne teen

The warhead that was lodged in the body of Berbice teen Oumesh Ballram, who was shot by a gunman during an attempted break in at his Number 69 Village home on February 20, was successfully re-moved on Friday.

Ballram is now recovering in the High Dependency Unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital, following the surgery. The lad’s father, Gurdial Ballram, told Sunday Stabroek that his son is on the road to recovery. “He in a lot of pain,” said Gurdial, “and his foot still not moving.”

In a telephone interview with Stabroek News, Gurdial also said he is still puzzled
