Probe ordered after man stabbed in eye accuses police of stalling case

Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday ordered an investigation after a man who lost his eye when he was stabbed by another with a broken bottle accused the police of stalling the case.

Lennox Williams’s alleged assailant, Orlando Carrington, 50, of 2966 North Ruimveldt, Georgetown was not required to plead to the offence which accused him of unlawful wounding. He was also granted $100,000 bail over the matter which occurred on February 8.
