Catholics at the Church of the Ascension in New Amsterdam participating in the Easter Vigil Midnight Mass observances in New Amsterdam on Saturday evening. Holy water was also blessed by Fr. Michael Traher, SFM and new Catholics were baptized and confirmed. They also received the Easter Sacraments. The service begins with the blessing of the new fire and Paschal Candle followed by a service in a darkened church.
