The Guyana Police Force (GPF) today commenced its 175th anniversary celebrations with its traditional drum head ceremony and prayer service at its Eve Leary Headquarters.

GINA said that Assistant Police Commissioner, Balram Persaud in his remarks said that the nature of policing must be seen as a call to service and that ranks must see themselves as servants and not masters. He noted that very few organisations in Guyana have survived 175 years.
