Minibus conductor assaulted police, escaped from custody – court hears

A minibus conductor who allegedly escaped from custody at the Brickdam Police Station after an altercation with a police officer landed him there was on Thursday released on $90, 000 bail.

Terrence Parks, 38, of Lot 29 Melanie Damishana pleaded not guilty to six charges when they were read to him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

According to the police, the first charge was instituted after Parks shouted to passengers on Hinck Street on June 28. He was also charged for behaving disorderly at the same time. Parks was observed by police officer Ronald Payne, who approached him, the court heard.
