On Monday at about 6.10 pm on the eastern side of the La Grange Public Road, a Red Nissan double cab pickup PEE 1977 was racing down the road coming behind a white Toyota Corolla AE 81 from the southern direction. A visitor to Guyana, Richard Nealt, who witnessed the accident, said that the Toyota had its left indicator on from a good distance. As the car turned into Palmer Street, he said the red pickup hit the car and it went overboard. He said that the red pickup then sped away leaving the occupants of the car to fend for themselves. Public-spirited citizens later helped to discover the drunken driver and his vehicle at the new road being built just before Goed Fortuin.
